Timu ya Taifa ya Tanzania “Taifa Stars” inayodhaminiwa na Bia ya Serengeti inakabiliwa na mchezo muhimu dhidi ya Uganda wa kufuzu kucheza Fainali za Afrika mwaka huu. Huu ni mchezo ambao kama Taifa Stars itashinda inaweza kukata tiketi ya kucheza AFCON mwaka huu itakayofanyika nchini Misri. Mchezo dhidi ya Uganda utachezwa Jumapili Machi 24,2019 saa 12 jioni kwenye Uwanja wa Taifa. Kocha Mkuu wa Taifa Stars Emmanuel Amunike ametangaza kikosi kitakachopambana kuisaka tiketi hiyo kwenye Uwanja wa nyumbani. Nahodha Mbwana Samatta anayecheza KRC Genk ya Belgium ataongoza kikosi katika mchezo huo uliobeba imani ya Watanzania. Kocha Amunike amesema Kikosi alichokitaja kimezingatia mambo mengi kuhakikisha Taifa Stars inapata ushindi. Amewataka Watanzania kuiunga mkono Taifa Stars katika kuipeperusha bendera ya Tanzania. Stephen Keshi Stadium confirmed as venue for Nigeria's friendly with Egypt

Nigeria's Football Federation (NFF) says the friendly against Egypt in March will take place at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State, southern Nigeria. The Egypt FA had confirmed on 20 December  that the Pharaohs would play the Super Eagles after Egypt's final 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Niger. After finalising details with the Delta State Government, the NFF concluded that the fixture, set for 26 March, will take place at the ground named after the country's most successful coach, Stephen Keshi. It comes four days after Nigeria's Nations Cup game with visiting Seychelles at the same venue. Nigeria, the three-time African champions, last played in Asaba six weeks ago when they were held to a 0-0 friendly draw by the Cranes of Uganda. Papy Djilobodji: Senegal defender signs for struggling Guingamp

Senegal defender Papy Djilobodji has signed a deal with French club Guingamp until the end of the season. Djilobodji, 30, was a free agent after  his contract with Sunderland was terminated in September 2018. Guingamp confirmed the Teranga Lion had signed a six-month contract and that the player wants to help the top flight club "stay in Ligue 1 at the end of the season." The French team are currently  bottom of the standings. Djilobodji, who signed for Sunderland from Chelsea  in August 2016, has previous experience of Ligue 1 football, having played for both Dijon and Nantes. He joins former Sunderland team-mate Didier Ndong at Guingamp after  the Gabon international joined the French outfit last week.

Caf awards: Aubameyang, Mane and Salah on final shortlist

Egypt international Mohamed Salah is in line to retain  his African Player of the Year award  after being named on a three-man shortlist along with Liverpool team-mate Sadio Mane of Senegal and Arsenal's Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Salah,  who was named the BBC's African Footballer of the Year for a second time in December,  won the Confederation of African Football (Caf) award last year. It was an identical shortlist with Salah emerging as the winner. This year's ceremony will be held at an awards gala on 8 January in Dakar, Senegal. Nigeria's Asisat Oshoala won last year's Women's Player of the Year award The women's shortlist has also been revealed with Nigeria duo Asisat Oshoala and Francisca Ordega, and South Africa's Thembi Kgatlana making the final three. Oshoala has won the last two Caf awards and three in total, and along with Ordega helped the Super Falcons  win the Women's Africa Cup of Nations in 2018. Kga

Ike Uche urges Chukwueze to continue his development at Villarreal

Ikechukwu Uche has told Villarreal forward and fellow Nigerian Samuel Chukwueze to treat growing transfer speculation as a compliment and continue to develop at his former club. 19-year-old Chukwueze is  enjoying a breakthrough season,  scoring in the Spanish La Liga, Europa League and Spanish Cup. Chukwueze's form  has caught the attention of clubs across Europe, but Uche - who is highly revered at Villarreal - believes the teenager's interest will be best served by staying. "Chukwueze is doing well at Villarreal so it's only normal to have growing speculation about his future in the media, but he is in a good place," Uche told BBC Sport.
