The Uganda Cranes team preparing for the AFCON 2019 group L qualifier against Cape Verde has intensified training drills at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
Issues concerning physical and mental fitness for players have been polished ahead of the big duel.
There are barely 48 hours to the kick off of the match where Uganda Cranes need a point to seal the AFCON 2019 slot.
The team training session on Thursday will be conducted under closed doors following Wednesday morning session at Namboole.
Head coach Sebastien Desabre, the physical trainer Gerome D’Antonio, assistant coach Mathias Lule as well as the goalkeeping coach Fred Kajoba are closely monitoring the players.

Still only 21, the combative midfielder is not definitely destined to leave the San Siro in January, especially if Chelsea loanee Tiemoue Bakayoko continues playing in the same manner he has started the season. According to Tuttomercato however, West Ham are planning on testing Milan’ reserve with a €35million offer in 2019. The Hammers have seen their first team hit by an injury crisis, with their already thin midfield options getting desperately low. Mark Noble’s red card at Leicester City means he joins Jack Wilshere, Carlos Sanchez, and Manuel Lanzini in the stands – with winger Robert Snodgrass and young centre half Declan Rice finishing the game in centre midfield at the King Power.
Egypt international Mohamed Salah is in line to retain his African Player of the Year award after being named on a three-man shortlist along with Liverpool team-mate Sadio Mane of Senegal and Arsenal's Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. It was an identical shortlist with Salah emerging as the winner. This year's ceremony will be held at an awards gala on 8 January in Dakar, Senegal. Nigeria's Asisat Oshoala won last year's Women's Player of the Year award The women's shortlist has also been revealed with Nigeria duo Asisat Oshoala and Francisca Ordega, and South Africa's Thembi Kgatlana making the final three. Oshoala has won the last two Caf awards and three in total, and along with Ordega helped the Super Falcons win the Women's Africa Cup of Nations in 2018. Kga...
